Last weekend I went for a little getaway to New York city with my boyfriend. Well, I might not have mentioned this before but since I moved away from Boston, we are in a long-distance relationship but so far it has been going great.
So the sweet guy surprised me with a trip to NYC! I mean, HOW COOL!! No?!
But then I was having the obvious problem; What will I wear? 🙂 You might have the biggest closet in the world but us girls we never have something to wear :p Anyways, a little shopping has been on my To Do list.
Hence, here are some easy tricks of how to make your outfit outstanding 🙂
- Get a really cool jacket… one that is versatile and fun, that will look different no matter what occasion you dress up for
- A cool bag that goes with anything – In my case, that is my beloved Chanel Flap Bag 🙂 Love this bag!
- Play with colors and cuts! I like to tuck in things into my pants or skirts, makes you always look skinnier 🙂
My plan was to go and check out Lord and Taylor. Some of you might not know this store, but its actually the oldest luxury store in the United States. I would say it probably has become more mainstream than luxurious in the past couple of years, but right now they are re-inventing themselves.
The reason why I love Lord and Taylor so much is that it always has amazing deals! So no matter what you try on, I bet that it will be on some sort of sale. And the store carries brands like BCBG, Guess, AG and many more. I mean once I found a faux leather Guess skirt there for 10$… How amazing! (I LOOOOVE SALES)
When I went to check if maybe i get lucky with some cool stuff before my NYC departure, I discovered a new brand that they were carrying; Highline Collective. I found some amazing pieces they had and wanted to share some items with you! Also the grey coat you will see below, I would wear it open with a tight dress or some leggings, tight top and heels with it.
I absolutely loved everything I found at L&T and bought stuff from BCBG, Design Lab and HIghline Collective. My favorite pieces I found were the super cool grey coat and reversible Bomber Jacket (I decided it is reversible hehe). Everything that is super in right now and items that you can style no matter how 🙂

Ps. The Bomber is from the Design Lab and I actually wear it on both sides. I am not sure it is supposed to be this way but it looks perfectly fine and on top of it I didn’t need to buy a black bomber 🙂
